REVIEWS

quote Food was amazing and delicious, if you are looking for chinese vegetarian food this is the way to go. The mock meat styles are very innovative. Service was fantastic. Would highly recommend ordering the Black olive pickle and minces pork with silky stewed tofu, the salt and pepper crispy fish and shanghai street and sour spare ribs. the asparagus and scallops was quite cool and innovative, they used oyster mushroom as the scallop portion.

quote You cant get any better service then when you open the door only to be greeted by a BIG SMILE and HAPPY GREETINGS by Steven! He is truly a Gem for his Boss and hopefully he is well rewarded by his Boss for his amazing attitude and efforts. If I own a restaurant, this is the kind of staff I would want! Loved the Thai Tom Kar Whole Fish. Its not spicy, dont let the name fool you. Definitely recommend.

quote I absolutely love going to plant based restaurants and Vegie Mum really impressed me with the quality of mock meats served, was innovative and the textures and flavours were amazing. We were welcomed by Steven, who was very bubbly, energetic and friendly. We ordered what he recommended and loved it all. We got the- ▪️Black olive pickle and minced pork with stewed silky tofu $25 ▪️Salt and Pepper Whole Crispy Fish $30 ▪️Asparagus and scallops $28 ▪️Shanghai Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs $22 ▪️Also tried the Carbonara flavour and Sichuan peppercorn flavour ▪️Soy Milk $4 I would highly recommend that “minced pork” with tofu- the tofu was so silky, the black olive pickle was mouth-wateringly flavourful, complements well with the rice and was so warming and comforting. The whole crispy “fish” was also so flavourful and fragrant and would also recommend ordering this. The bean curd skin and seaweed gave a nice texture and really soaked up the flavour of the tangy sauce. The mock meats in all the dishes hit the nail on the head, cooked to perfection and all shone in their own special way in their respective dishes which punched bags of flavour. The “spare ribs” with the bamboo sticks was such a creative idea, the texture was nice and so addictive. The asparagus and “scallops” was a more safer choice, more clean and light with just mushrooms and veggies, but also very delicious. They have an extensive menu full of different plant based goodies so would definitely be back to try more of what they have to offer.

quote Friendliest staff of any restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food is also out of this world, some of the best vegan / vegetarian food in Melbourne. Definitely a must try.

quote The reviews weren’t exaggerating. This is the best vegetarian restaurant I’ve been to and even better it’s Chinese! As someone who eats meat but wants to eat less of it, I’d gladly be a full time vegetarian if food always tasted like this. My favourite dishes so far have been the sweet and sour spare ribs and the peking roast duck. Black fungus chicken was ok. Wish this was closer to where I live but will stop by again when I’m in the area.
