I wish Google would allow a three and a half star review as that's where my review would ideally sit. Overall, the food was good yet nothing compared to some others around town that just wow you for flavour!
Walked in on a Sunday afternoon to find the place pretty busy with two large groups dining there. Those patrons looked as if their main diahes were not regular menu options but rather a special order from the kitchen.
The ambience was okay, the restaurant tidy. Having regular sized glasses and not little plastic cups provided for table water would help.
First off, we received the hot and sour soup, which honestly came out with way too much vinegar that essentially killed the overall flavour of the soup. Also, it had a small amount of minced mock meat but really should have had more mushrooms and other vegetables. The quantity, too, was lacking for what the restaurant charges per bowl.
Thereafter though, the mains were much better, both in taste and quantity - the olive fried rice was good, the chicken and cashew nut had a good assortment of fresh vegetables, and the sweet and sour Cantonese pork was spot on.
Prices are on the higher side but with the high cost of mock meats nowadays, this is to be expected.
Overall a decent meal which tasted more like home cooking than that restaurant meal that you just couldn't replicate at home.
I see other dishes reviewed and would definitely be tempted to go in and try their food again, perhaps lifting my review rating.
Parking in front of the restaurant is not always an option and it can mean finding parking about 3-5 minutes away by foot.
